Jack McPherson, CFA – Portfolio Manager
Mr. McPherson has been involved in the investment industry since 1990; he joined Eagle Boston Investment Management in November 2006.
Prior to Eagle Boston, Mr. McPherson was a vice president and portfolio manager of the Pioneer Small-Cap Value Fund (along with Offshore and Variable Annuity Products) at Pioneer Investment Management, which in aggregate amounted to $1.2 billion. He had been instrumental in adding significant research capabilities and organizational database management to the effort. Mr. McPherson also acted as interim manager of the Pioneer Small Company Fund (repositioned as core to growth offering) from mid-2002 to mid-2004.
Prior to joining Pioneer, Mr. McPherson was employed by Middleton & Company, a high-net-worth asset management firm, where he was part of the team responsible for constructing an equity model portfolio which was utilized by relationship managers to manage individual client accounts. At Middleton he was responsible for coverage of the energy, healthcare services, consumer, industrial and telecommunications sectors. Prior to Middleton, Mr. McPherson was a member of the small-cap team at Evergreen Investment Management (formerly Keystone Investment Management) in the role of equity analyst. At Evergreen he was responsible for coverage of the healthcare, energy and industrial sectors. He began his career in 1990 with Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management (formerly Pell, Rudman & Co., Inc.) as an equity analyst covering a variety of industries spanning the market capitalization spectrum. In addition to his analytical role, he was also responsible for equity trading as a back up to the primary equity trader.
Mr. McPherson graduated from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College with an MBA in 2005. His undergraduate degree is from Northeastern University, B.S. (1990). He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society, Inc.
