David Adams, CFA – Portfolio Manager

Mr. Adams has been involved in the investment industry since 1990, almost exclusively focused on small-cap investing. Mr. Adams joined Eagle Boston Investment Management as managing director and portfolio manager in November 2006.

Prior to Eagle Boston, Mr. Adams spent almost 13 years at Pioneer Investment Management. From May 2002 he had been the group head/lead portfolio manager of the Pioneer Small-Cap Value Team, overseeing growth in assets under management from $250 million to $1.2 billion through October 2006. Mr. Adams also acted as interim manager of the Pioneer Small Company Fund (repositioned as core to growth offering) from mid-2002 to mid-2004. From 1999 through 2001, Mr. Adams was an assistant portfolio manager on the Pioneer Micro-Cap and Small Company Funds. Mr. Adams began his career path at Pioneer as an analyst in 1994, initially covering the basic industry groups (including energy, transports, chemicals and process industries) and later consumer industries. In 1997 he began working as a small-cap generalist in the small/micro-cap value group.

Prior to Pioneer, in 1992 Mr. Adams was a research associate for RCM Capital Management, working with the healthcare and media and entertainment groups, and supporting a small-cap growth product. From 1990 to 1991 Mr. Adams was an analyst for Valuation Analyst, a San Francisco-based valuation consulting firm providing private market valuation work for companies primarily based on the West Coast. Mr. Adams began his career as a profitability analyst for the commercial banking group of Bank of New England in Boston from 1985 to 1988.

Mr. Adams graduated from Boston College, where he received a B.S. in finance and economics cum laude in 1985, and an M.S. in finance in 1989 (top five percent of class). Mr. Adams earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society, Inc.
